Green Moving: Get Packing without Wasting

Posted by on

It’s time to pack up your life. Depending on how many things you have, the job can be daunting and seem never-ending. It can also take a lot of stuff to pack a lot of stuff. And if you’re trying to cut back on the trash that packing takes, we have some suggestions.

If you know the impending move is coming, you can always start saving your own moving supplies. Start hoarding boxes, bubble wrap, and other padding or packing materials. This way, you’re not going to the store to buy even more items.

Check where you can get used or recycled boxes and packing supplies. For example, a company like Eco Box not only specializes in used boxes, but you can get eco-friendly bubble wrap that will degrade when it’s thrown out.

And when you’re cleaning up after you’ve moved you, consider using eco-friendly cleaning supplies. They are better for your health, and they’re better for the waterways after being dumped down your sink.

And, of course, getting rid of the things you don’t want to move will cut back on your supply-need. So toss, sell, or donate the things you don’t want to take with you. Hopefully, you’ll cut out the need for a few boxes along the way!

And when the move is finished, take those boxes and bubble wrap rolls to a recycling location. Or consider giving them away to someone else ready to start packing for a move!
